When the open mic is over, stick around for Wednesday’s headliner, Skip Guidry. Skip’s Bio: A native of New Orleans, Skip could call in sick to work everyday, and never be lying. He draws his humor from his dark sense of the world, and somehow leaves you sore from laughing all weekend. You can see Skip every week at The New Orleans Stand Up Comedy All Stars open mic’ at Sidney’s Sports Bar (The New Orleans area’s longest running comedy venue) in Marrero, Louisiana. A relative new comer to stand up, Skip had a break out performance at the 2009 New Orleans Comedy Arts Festival. Skip won the feature slot in a “Stand-up Smack Down” edging out 40 local comics. Skip also made the final 4 (out of 75) of the 2009 Baton Rouge Funnybone version of The Last Comic Standing. Skip has appeared on ABC’s Good Morning New Orleans (yes as a comedian, not a witness to a murder) and has opened/featured for: Tom Rhodes, Tony Woods, Jodi Borrello, The Disgruntled Clown, Dave Russo, Bill Dykes, Slim Bloodworth, and many more. And, yes, he is an Armed Service Veteran who wants to remind everyone that “you’re welcome for your freedom.” Price: FREE for guests arriving before 8:00PM, $5 after that, $3 w/College ID, Free for Armed Service Members w/ID *Must be at least 18 years of age to enter with Valid Picture ID Drink Specials:2 for 1 Mixed Drinks, $1.00 “Comic”azi shots Special Announcement: This will be the last week of Above Ground Comedy’s fundraising drive for Disabled Amercian Veteran’s (DAV) which began October 14th.
